Murphy, Rogers, Sloss & Gambel is an "AV" rated firm representing a broad spectrum of international and domestic clients in the federal and state courts of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and other Gulf Coast states. The firm's primary practice areas are admiralty and maritime law, commercial litigation and general casualty litigation.

The firm's attorneys have substantial maritime litigation experience handling personal injury/death claims, seaman wage disputes, environmental torts, product liability claims, cargo damage claims, collisions, charter party disputes, claims for damage to fixed and floating objects, longshore and harbor workers' compensation claims, and insurance coverage disputes. The commercial litigation practice involves representation of businesses, land owners and individuals in business litigation disputes.

The firm's other practice areas include general casualty litigation, land-based transportation defense, premises liability, products liability, environmental law, employment litigation, class action litigation, workers' compensation matters and insurance defense.

History

Murphy, Rogers & Sloss was formed in July 1992 by Robert H. Murphy, E. Carroll Rogers and Peter B. Sloss. Gary J. Gambel was made a director of the firm in April 1996.  Charles L. Whited, Jr. was added as a director in January 2000. In January 2002 Peter B. Tompkins joined the firm and was made a director.  The firm changed its name to Murphy, Rogers, Sloss & Gambel in 2005. John H. Musser, V was named a director in January 2007, and Ronald L. White was added as a director in January 2008.
